RTI Training conducted by the ICAI Eastern region in Kolkata
18 May, 2015A training program for the officers and staff the eastern regional council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) on the May 14, 2015 at Kolkata. The training was conducted by Dr Anuradha Verma who talked about the purpose of the Right to Information (RTI) Act and also the various exemption sections. She discussed in detail about how the public information officer should deal with when an application is received by him or the same is received by the deemed public information officer. The training session was attended by over 60 persons from the eastern region of ICAI. The participants raised numerous queries and the two sessions conducted by her were highly interactive.
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) is a statutory body established under the Chartered Accountants Act, 1949 (Act No. XXXVIII of 1949) for the regulation of the profession of Chartered Accountants in India. The ICAI has achieved recognition as a premier accounting body not only in the country but also globally, for its contribution in the fields of education, professional development, maintenance of high accounting, auditing and ethical standards. It is now the second largest accounting body in the whole world.
Dr Anuradha Verma has authored two books on RTI Act and has worked as RTI Consultant to IIM (Indore). She has been conducting training sessions for various organisations in respect of the RTI Act.
