Model laws for co-operative societies are creating a lot of confusion
Ref: New model bye-laws are being adopted by thousands of co-operative housing societies
There are societies constructed and registered before 1980 where the stilt parking area comes with the flat as it is purchased with it. The model bye laws must be clearly worded so they do not overrule the fact that these areas are with the flat. If this change is not made there will be a dangerous precedent of members encroaching citing these amendments without full knowledge.
Just before I have send some questions about the adoption of co-operative housing society amended bye laws applicable in Mumbai. The questions are :
1. Is it compulsary to adopt the new ammended bye laws if it is to be adopted then by which date?
2.If there is no reserved catagory of society members then what will be the strength of the committee?
Whether new model bye laws have become applicable now ?
