Lok Sabha issues privilege motion to Arvind Kejriwal
The Lok Sabha Secretariat has issued a notice to the social activist Arvind Kejriwal for his alleged remarks the parliamentarians as rapists, murderers and looters during an election campaign in February. The Congress MP Sajjan Singh Verma had complained for the alleged remarks regarding the parliamentarians calling it an attack on democracy. Mr Arvind Kejriwal had reportedly said, ‘In this Parliament, 163 members have cases of heinous offences against them. In this Parliament, rapists are sitting, murderers and looters are sitting. How can you expect the Jan Lokpal Bill to be passed by the Parliament? How can you expect that you can get reprieve from poverty and corruption’?
Supporters of Anna Hazare protested at the residence of Shri Sajjan Singh Verma who appeared to be ready to meet them and welcomed them by offering flowers.
