TNPSC to face contempt proceedings for failure to provide information
11 Jan, 2012
The Tamil Nadu
Public Service Commission
(TNPSC) has reportedly failed to provide information relating to the recruitment to post of assistant director of
Town and Country Planning
. In 2009, the Tamil Nadu State Information Commission had directed the Public Information Officer to supply the information within two days of the receipt of the orders and report compliance to the Commission besides levying a penalty of Rs 25,000/-. The TNPSC moved the High Court where Justice V Ramasubramanian
dismissed
the petition of TNPSC directed to provide the information in four-weeks. Now contempt proceedings are in process.
