Record of former Attorney General's advice do not exist
22 Jan, 2012The Attorney General's office has informed the CIC that the former Attorney General Milon Banerjee did not leave behind records of the advice given by him to withhold from disclosure the communication exchanged with the then President APJ Abdul Kalam after the results of the 2004 general elections. Communications made with President Kalam in connection with and following 2004 general elections were sought claiming that they contained the fact as to who initially staked the claim for becoming the Prime Minister of India - Whether such claim was for Smt. Sonia Gandhi or for Dr. Man Mohan Singh.
