Information sought:
The appellant sought information on 6 points regarding funds earmarked for performing regular pujas by Puducherry Govt., procedure for opening Hundi, collection details for 10 years, etc. of Sri Muthu Puthulyi Ezhaimariamman Koil Temple, M.G. Road, Puducherry.
Relevant facts emerging during hearing:
The appellant is not present while the respondent is present and heard through Video Conferencing. The appellant filed an RTI application on 11.10.2013, seeking the above information. PIO provided a point-wise reply to the appellant and forwarded the RTI application to the Temple Authorities. The FAA in his order directed the PIO, Temple Authority to furnish reply to fresh questions raised by the appellant within 15 days. The respondent stated that information, as available on record, has already been provided to the appellant. He further stated that he had met both the appellant as well as the Special Officer from the Temple Authorities and during the meeting, it was clarified to the appellant that information furnished by the Special Officer is in order and regarding the amount collected from the Hundi, it was informed to him that the same is not made public. He further stated that it was also explained to the appellant that the dept. will explore the possibility of publishing the amount of Hundi collection to the general public by displaying the same on the notice board of the temple. He also informed the Commission that after the meeting, appellant was satisfied. In the absence of the appellant, his views cannot be ascertained.
Decision:
After hearing the respondent and on perusal of record, the Commission finds that information, as per available record, has been provided to the appellant. The appeal is disposed of accordingly.
