AAP members camped outside BMC office after being denied information

An application was filed with the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) under the Right to Information (RTI) Act seeking to get information about a club of Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) newly inaugurated in Kandivli.
The BMC, in its reply to the application, refused to provide the copies of the demanded documents following which the applicant, in this case the members of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), camped outside the superintendent of gardens office of BMC in Byculla spending the night over there as a sign of the protest.
The AAP members alleged that the club, comprising of a card room and a bar, has been constructed on a playground and it doesn’t even possess an occupation certificate.
After the information was denied to them, the AAP members have planned to file a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) against the alleged usurping of public open space to run a club by the BMC.
