Comment:
Arising out of the stand taken by the Governor of Maharashtra to nominate Shri Uddav Thakre even though Council of Ministers passed the resolution and submitted to the Governor. No decision was taken by the Governor for long time. Council of ministers again passed the resolution and submitted to Governor's approval. Even there wasn't any movement in regard. There after hectic activities at the Governor's office to request to approve Mr Uddav Thakre's to Vidhan Parishad.Governor was unmoved. However, surprisingly, the Governor requested the Central Election Commission to take decision to take the election at the earliest. CEC declared elections to be held on 21/5/2020.
Under the Circumstances, Nation wants to know what were the constraints for Governor to the approve the nomination of Mr Uddav Thakre. For the above reasons, if Governor’s office is to be brought with in the ambit of RTT. In case arising out the case Andhra and Goa Governor's cases whether the Governor's office has brought Under the ambit of RTI may please be published for the information of public at large. A one-line reply is expected.
Thanks.

“Nation wants to know” has evolved into a common phrase for raising questions for which a particular person, more commonly a journalist, wishes to find answers to queries. Well, in our opinion, the office of a Governor is covered under the ambit of the RTI Act, 2005.
