Should complaints against judges be made public under RTI?

The Central Information Commission (CIC) has directed the Law Ministry to disclose the forwarding letters attached with the complaints that are forwarded to the Supreme Court and High Courts.
The CIC gave its verdict on the appeal filed under the Right to Information (RTI) Act by Mr. Subhash Chandra Agrawal, who had sought for the “copies of forwarding letters” sent to the Chief Justice of India (CJI) and Chief Justices of High Courts. An earlier application under the RTI application filed by the same applicant seeking the copy of complaints against retired and present judges was refused by the Law Ministry.

The disclosure of the forwarding letter is likely to reveal the names of the judges against whom the complaints were filed.
