Procedure for paying e- fee for filing RTI application by Indians abroad

The Department of Posts already provides a e-commerce portal with its own payment gateway. An applicant who wishes to make payment for filing an RTI Application using this method would have to log to the website and then go to the ‘RTI counter’ on the portal. The first time user would have to register as it is mandatory. Thereafter, after filling up the RTI application and uploading the passport copy, the applicant would be directed for payment of the RTI fees through the electronic postal order. This postal would be generated from a special series and would be captured by the application. It would then be assigned to the Public Information Officer (PIO) of the concerned public authority.
