The Appellant sought information through 10 points regarding action taken on letter no. RRKS/NDMB/016/15 dated 28.12.2015 addressed to the Admiral Superintendent, Naval Dockyard, Mumbai as well as procedure of handling of complaints regarding corruption matter/malpractice/irregularities.

Respondent: Lt Col Ruchika Mehta, SO1(Pers/Legal) & CPIO, Military Engineering Services, Headquarters, Chief Engineer (Navy), Colaba, Mumbai present through VC. CPIO submitted that relevant documents have been provided to the Appellant.
Appellant stated that he has been intimated on paras 3(i)(a) and 3(i)(b) of RTI Application that necessary action as per policy has been already taken and reported outcome forwarded through proper channel, while he has not received any such report. He further submitted that he has not received any file noting(s) or action taken report.
Decision
Commission observes from the perusal of facts on record that reply provided on paras 3(i)(a) and 3(i)(b) of the RTI Application is not appropriate as information provided by the CPIO is unspecific and evasive. CPIO is hereby directed to provide a revised reply to the Appellant on paras 3(i)(a) and 3(i)(b) of the RTI Application incorporating specific and available action taken report as well as all file noting(s) tendered on the letter referred in the said paras. The documents to be provided in compliance of this order should be certified and free of cost. The said directions should be complied within 15 days from the date of receipt of this order and a compliance report to this effect shall be duly sent to the Commission by the CPIO.
The appeal is disposed of accordingly.
