Kerala: More government services to be made available under the e-district initiative
16 Jan, 2015The Cabinet of State government of Kerala approved the amendment to the Kerala IT 2010 (Distribution of Electronic Services) rules thus enabling the people to get more government services electronically under the e-district initiative.
As per the sanction accorded to the draft amendment for bringing in changes, the following would be services available through the e-district initiative:-
· Issue of minority certificate by the Revenue Department,
· Filing of Right to Information (RTI) applications,
· Filing of complaints / grievances to all departments will be brought under the project, and
· Other e-services offered by the government from time to time.
The users of the services are required to pay charges for availing the services and the Fee has been fixed at Rs 17/- (including government’s share of Rs 2/-, court fee stamp of Rs 5/- and service provider’s share of Rs 10/-). Those applicants who belong to the SC/ST /BPL categories are exempt from payment of the government share. The Fee for application under the Right to Information Act has been kept as Rs 22/- including Rs.10/- payable under the RTI Act.
All the services covered which are covered under the Right to Services Act shall be delivered as e-service through ‘Akshaya Kendras’. The State government has also decided to entrust the IT Mission with the launching of e-district public portal for routing e-services.
