Government to make a statement in Odisha assembly regarding the killing of RTI activist
9 Feb, 2015
The issue of the alleged murder of RTI activist Krupasindhu Sahu at Niali (District Cuttack) was raised in Odisha Assembly during the zero hour by Naba K Das. The opposition was demanding a statement from the Chief Minister (who also holds the charge of Home minister) alleging that the local MLA and administration was trying to shield the guilty.
The house had to be adjourned twice following pandemonium and subsequently, the Speaker Niranjan Pujari in his ruling directed the state government to make a statement on the matter relating to Sahu's killing in the forenoon session on 09-02-2015.
Even after a time lag of 13 days since Sahu’s killing, there have been no arrests and police seems to be leading nowhere. It has been alleged that Sahu was killed due to his raising of corruption issues.
