Goa Chief Minister condemns RTI use for blackmailing
24 May, 2012While addressing a group of students, the Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar has strongly condemned the use of Right to Information (RTI) Act by certain sections of the people for ‘blackmailing’ others. He also asked why some people apply for the RTI so often. The Goa CM was commenting on the alleged expenses of Rs. 11 lakhs in the swearing-in ceremony which costed the state exchequer nearly Rs. 11 lakhs. Mr. Parrikar said that except for the pedas (Indian sweet) and water bottles, the rest expense would have been incurred even if the ceremony was held at Raj Bhavan.
