Comment:
I had submitted an online RTI application vide No. SERAILWAY/R/E/25/01355 dated 25.06.2025. The CPIO furnished information only on one of the points raised, while remaining silent on the others. Moreover, the information provided was not in accordance with the rules.
Aggrieved by this, I filed a first appeal before the Appellate Authority. However, instead of examining the matter independently, the appeal was merely forwarded to the CPIO, who once again supplied the same incomplete and unsatisfactory information. The Appellate Authority then forwarded this very same response back to me, without verifying its correctness or completeness.
This shows that the system, as presently functioning, is defective and fails to serve the purpose of ensuring transparency and accountability under the RTI Act.
