Firearms registrations on the rise in Chandigarh

Chandigarh has witnessed 1,675 registrations of different firearms in last decade. It has come to light that a majority of weapon holders are retired or serving defence personnel who have settled in Chandigarh. The single and double barrel guns of different bores are preferred by the majority of people. Apart from foreign made weapons, the numbers of pistols and revolvers have also seen a rise. The number of cancellations of license during the last 10 years has been just 4.
