District Education Officer files FIR against seven Hindi teachers for faking degrees
4 Feb, 2014The reply to an application filed under the Right to Information (RTI) Act has revealed that many newly appointed high school teachers in Bolangir, Odisha furnished forged documents at the time of joining the posts.
The district education department had appointed 244 teachers on contract basis in March, 2013 but the reply to the RTI application showed that at least nine teachers had produced fake certificates to get the job. Most of the fake documents pertained to the Central Institute of Hindi, Agra, Hindi University of Wardha and Hindi Training Institute of Cuttack.
Some candidates for the post of Hindi teachers lodged a complaint with the District Education Officer (DEO) against seven such Hindi teachers who they alleged had presented fake documents of Hindi qualification from Central Institute of Hindi, Agra. The District Education Officer, who is investigating the matter, explicitly stated that the Central Institute of Hindi has already mentioned that none of the seven accused have passed from the institute.
The DEO has now lodged an FIR against the seven accused teachers.
