CIC: PIO to provide complete information particularly with regard to the copies of the appointment records of Dean/Associate Dean of NIT to the appellant - CIC: The appellant to give an acknowledgment receipt to the CPIO after receiving the documents

Information Sought:

The appellant has sought inspection and copies of the following information:

1. Copy of the documents of appointment and promotion of faculty of Civil Engineering Department from January 2005 to March 12, 2018.

2. Copy of the appointment records of Dean/Associate Dean from January 2017 to March 12, 2018.

Grounds for Second Appeal

The CPIO did not provide the desired information.

Submissions made by Appellant and Respondent during Hearing:

The appellant submitted that the copies of the appointment records of Dean/Associate Dean from January, 2017 to 12th March, 2018 were not provided to him. The CPIO submitted that complete information was provided to the appellant on 13.04.2018. He further submitted that he is willing to give the available documents a second time to the appellant, if directed by the Commission.

Observations:

From a perusal of the relevant case records, it is noted that the appellant is aggrieved that the copies of the appointment records of Dean/Associate Dean for the period mentioned by the appellant in his RTI application was not provided to him. However, during the hearing the CPIO submitted that even though complete information was provided to the appellant on 13.04.2018, he is willing to provide the available information once again to the appellant.

Decision:

Based on the above observations, the CPIO is directed to provide complete information particularly with regard to the copies of the appointment records of Dean/Associate Dean to the appellant forthwith. The appellant is also directed to give an acknowledgment receipt to the CPIO after receiving the desired documents.

The appeal is disposed of accordingly.
