Chief Jail Superintendent suspended following enquiry into release of conman
24 Apr, 2012The Chief jail superintendent of Parappana Agrahara Central Prison of Karnataka Shri TH Lakshminarayana has been suspended after an inquiry allegedly found him guilty for the release of SM Masood, a conman, in December 2011 without proper court orders. An inquiry by DIG of Police (Prisons) Mr. S Ravi reportedly found the jail authorities had done gross 'dereliction of duty' and illegalities in releasing SM Masood. A RTI activist AR Ashok Kumar Adiga of Basaveshwaranagar had earlier filed an RTI application following which the case of his release from the prison came to light. As reported, Sayed Masood came up with irresistible schemes to dupe thousands of persons in Mumbai and cities like Pune, Delhi, Chennai, Hyderabad and Bangalore to the tune of hundreds of crores of rupees.
