RTI activist Sanjay Tyagi shot dead in Meerut

Unidentified gunmen shot dead Sanjay Tyagi, a 40-year-old RTI activist at Meerut. He had reportedly gone to the fields with his friend Pappu to water his fields on a bike when he was shot dead.

As per Pappu, there was a call on the mobile phone of Tyagi at around 2.00 PM on 24-05-2014 when he left the fields on the bike for some work. However, when Tyagi did not return even after 3 hours and failed to respond to his calls, he began to search for him. His bike was seen at the Rasna – Badam road and his blood stained body with six bullet wounds was found besides it.

The police has registered a case of murder against the unidentified accused on a complaint filed by the father of the deceased.
