The penalty has been meagre
1 Sep, 2012With reference to the study 2 - The number of cases where the penalty has been imposed by the CIC is too little to impose any sense of fear in the PIO to follow the RTI Act in letter and spirit. Out of these four cases, at least two are likely to get judicial relief and no doubt, the biggest causality is the implementation of the RTI Act. With little to be afraid of, who would care for the RTI Act? The penalty has been meagre and it is time for some real brainstorming on this issue. Aakash Deep and Alankrita
