Information regarding radiation emission from Akashwani Bhawan compound

The appellant sought various details of the equipment/towers in Akashwani compound with their standard capacities of radiation emission, the effective range of radiation from Akashwani compound, harmful effects of the radiation on villagers and what step were taken up for health security of the nearby villagers. On the directions of the First Appellate Authority (FAA) the Public Information Officer (PIO) provided partial information and denied the information regarding radiation claiming that it was not available.

During the hearing the PIO submitted that the information available on the records has already been provided and there is no record of the radiation emitted by the Center damaging any life-form since no such study has been done before. The Central Information Commission rejected the appeal observing that all the available information as per records has been provided to the appellant.
