Details of electrical motors imported from China through ICD Tuglakabad

The appellant sought details regarding import of electrical motors of Y, Y2 and YL from China and cleared by ICD, Tuglakabad between January and July 2010 like the Invoice value; Importers name; Copies of Bill of Entries; whether any loading was levied; whether goods were cleared provisionally or on final basis; etc. The Public Information Officer (PIO) provided information for the period January to 16th March 2010 and informed the appellant that the new V 1.5 system is now managed and controlled by the Directorate of Systems and Data Management and his office had no access to the new system to retrieve any information. The First Appellate Authority (FAA) directed the PIO to obtain detailed information from the concerned section in respect of certain queries and provide the same to the appellant within 30 days.

The respondent submitted that in compliance with the directions of the FAA, the PIO provided requisite information while the appellant claimed that no information has been received. Therefore, a copy of the letter was handed over to the appellant during the hearing and the appellant expressed satisfaction with the reply. The Commission held that since the requisite information has been provided to the appellant, the matter was disposed off on the part of the Commission.
