1. Appellant has filed an RTI application vide letter dated 4.4.13 requesting to obtain certified copies of yearwise scams occurred between 1990 to March 2013 and the names of prime accused and amount involved in the scams. He has also requested to know the names of the Prime Minister during whose tenure those scams occurred.
2. In its response dated 7.5.13 respondent CPIO has replied that the information sought is not specific. Thereafter, the first appeal filed by the appellant vide letter dated 20.5.13 was disposed of by FAA through his order dated 3.7.13. In his order, FAA has reiterated that the information sought by the appellant is not specific and the appellant has not mentioned any specific event and therefore, it was not possible for the CPIO to find out the related documents nor would it be possible for CPIO to find out the appropriate public authority with whom the requested information would be available.
3. A perusal of the RTI application makes it clear that appellant’s request is not specific.
4. Commission, therefore, agrees with the response of the CPIO and with the order of FAA, the present appeal is dismissed.
