The Complainant filed an RTI application dated Nil, seeking information on sixteen points and eleven sub-points:-
1. Provide details of dietary items supplied to each inmate of the jail clearly mentioning quantity, quality and value of each item.
2. Name of the department and officers responsible for supplying dietary items to the inmates.
3. Provide the certified copy Jail Manual (Hindi edition). Etc..
Having not received any response from the PIO, the Complainant filed a complaint with the Commission.
Facts emerging in Course of Hearing:
A written submission has been received from Superintendent (PIO), Central Jail No. 2, Tihar, New Delhi vide letter dated 05.08.2019 in this case. Complainant claims that he has not filed the instant Complaint under RTI Act. It is the submission of the Complainant that he was not even aware about the contents of the Complaint alleged to have been filed by him, until after the receipt of the notice of hearing from the Commission. Complainant admits to have filed a number of RTI applications in the past but categorically denies filing the present complaint.
Decision:
In the light of the circumstances of this case and the substance of the Complainant’s declaration during the hearing, the present complaint has been rendered infructuous and needs no further consideration.
The case, accordingly, stands dismissed.
