The Closing Balance of PM CARES Fund as on March 31, 2023 stands at Rs. 6283.68 Crore
29 Dec, 2024The ‘Prime Minister's Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund (PM CARES Fund)’ is a public charitable trust registered as a Public Charitable Trust. The trust deed of PM CARES Fund was registered under the Registration Act, 1908 at New Delhi on 27th March, 2020.
The Prime Minister is the ex-officio Chairman of the PM CARES Fund and the ex-officio Trustees comprise of the Minister of Defence, Minister of Home Affairs and Minister of Finance. Shri Justice K.T.Thomas (Retd.) and Shri Kariya Munda have been nominated as a Trustees of the Fund by the Prime Minister. Any person appointed a Trustee acts in a pro bono capacity.
For the Financial year 2022-23, the audited balance sheet has been put on the website of the PM CARES Fund which shows Opening Balance – Rs. 54,15,65,53,208; Voluntary contribution - Rs. 9,09,63,88,326; Total Receipt - Rs. 67,23,06,78,171. With the Total Payment of Rs. 4,39,38,47,389; the Closing Balance as on March 31, 2023 stands at Rs. 62,83,68,30,782.
