Website to be launched for e-postal order by month end
7 Mar, 2013The nodal agency for the implementation of the RTI Act, the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) has reportedly worked out all the modalities in consultation with the Department of Posts for payment of the application fee of Rs. 10/- through e-postal order. This would be especially of use for the Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) who face a lot of difficulty in payment of fee for filing an application under the RTI Act. This facility is likely to be extended to all the citizens living across the country.
A website to help in the payment of fee for filing RTI applications through e-postal order is likely to be launched by this month end. The website shall have an option for the users to pay the fee of Rs 10 via credit or debit cards to the government while exercising their Right to Information.
