Two day seminar to mark nine years of RTI Act, 2005
21 Apr, 2014A seminar was organised jointly at Chamber Bhavan by the Jharkhand RTI Forum and Media Information and Communication Centre of India (MICCI) to mark nine years of Right to Information Act today. The two day seminar on the Role of Civil Society in Enhancing Transparency ended on April 20 in which activists, students of National Law University and Central University, Jharkhand participated. The speakers talked about the various provisions and also the developments in the field of RTI.
With the elections in full swing, the role and powers of the Election Commission was a topic of debate. The electoral law and provisions which grant the powers to the Election Commission to conduct the search the private individuals and seizure money from them during the Lok Sabha polls was discussed.
