SIC asks HSIIDC to make public information regarding NRI quota
As per the estate management policy, the Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (HSIIDC) had reserved 10% of industrial plots under its Non-resident Indians (NRI) quota. To implement the quota, an NRI plot allotment committee was formed along with a foreign investment and NRI cell for prospective applicants.
In this regard, four applications were filed with the HSIIDC under the Right to Information (RTI) Act seeking to get information on the allotment of plots under the NRI category. However, unsatisfied with the multiple responses of the corporation, the applicant approached the State Information Commission (SIC). The information commission also found that the replies provided by the HSIIDC were not satisfactory.
The SIC held in its order that the information demanded by the appellant needs to be uploaded on corporation's official website as per the provision of sub-sections (1) (b) (xiv) and (2) of Section 4 of the RTI Act. The SIC has also asked the HSIIDC to submit a compliance report to the commission.
