RTI reveals multiple plots allotted to a single officer under defence quota
6 Aug, 2013The reply to an application filed under the Right to information (RTI) Act has revealed that an ex-serviceman (paramilitary defence officer in Gurgaon) has been allotted four plots under the defence quota by the Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) on account of false affidavits furnished at the time submitting application form. The reply to the application shows that the retired deputy commandant has been allotted plots in Fatehabad, Sirsa, Gurgaon and Panchkula, each in a different year.
During the course of an internal inquiry by HUDA, it was confirmed that the ex-serviceman had ownership links with all the four plots following which the decision was taken to cancel the allotment. Also an FIR has been registered against the retd. officer in Sirsa.
The applicant had also lodged a complaint regarding the irregularities in plot allotments with the Haryana Vigilance Bureau which has initiated probe into the allegations.
