RTI achieves what even Chief Ministers office couldn’t accomplish
3 Nov, 201322 families of a traditionally musician community of Gujrat, the Mir community, now relegated to daily wage works and in an economic condition which can best be attributed as poorest of the poor, has been provide with the status of BPL, enabling them to avail the benefits of the various welfare schemes of the Government.
In September 2012, coordinator of Vicharta Samuday Samarthan Manch (VSSM), Mittal Patel, had written to Chief Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi, about the plight of the Mir community and sought his intervention in solving this issue. In a prompt reply, the CMO forwarded the issue to the concerned departments and the District Rural Development Authority (DRDA) started with the process of registering these families, settled in Deodar town of Banaskantha District.
