The Political Parties Should Be Covered Under RTI Act!

RTI Act, 2005 applies on all institutions/ bodies/agencies who are getting even a single paisa in their kitty from the Government of India/ State Governments. When the act is applicable to the smallest of such instituion or body or agency then why not to these Politicial Parties who are getting funds not only from Government but from other known and unknown sources.
It would be in the interest of the country and democracy if these political parties welcome the decision and abide by the ruling of CIC.

Well done...more power to the people...let transparency and clean administration prevail...and may the almighty grant good sense to the population at large to use the RTI for non personal interests and gains

This is great news. The need of the day. We all know how politicians want all their expenses to be on the house. The news channels have already reported that most political parties do NOT want to be covered under RTI. Hope CIC sticks to its Notification. Hopefully CAG has set some example for all CIVIL Servants to rise to NEED of the DAY and expose all political parties to have some probity.
The Maharashtra Govt has issued instructions that politicians NEED NOT declare their assets and they should NOT be forced to do that. These are the men who spoke different language when Anna Hazare went on fast to demand passage of LOK PAL Bill.
May god bless this country from THESE POLITICIANS.
SS Jadhav
I agree with the CIC order directing the inclusion of political parties under RTI ACT. Without total transparency in the political parties, there is little likelihood of cleaning Augean stables of the corrupt, colonial and callous system we are mired in.
The people at large must unite to pressurise the political elite to see the writing on the wall and give our democratic system a new content and direction

This is a right step in the direction to the field of RTI. This order has created problem to all the national parties. I am surprised to hear the views of sharad yadav who has said that political parties are not kirana shop that should come under rti. Parties will challenge this order tooth and nail. They will get a defeat in appellate court.
