Comment: I am a RTI Activist as well.
I agree with Mr. Surendera M. Bhanot 100% on all matters.
I wish to share my experience with RTI India foundation.
Consumer disputes forums consider RTI Applicant as consumer and PIO who provides information for a consideration is a service provider.
Hence RTI Applicant can seek direction under CP Act to get the deficiency in the information given by PIO that fall in the category as defined in sec 2 i (g) of the Act to be removed.
I made a petition in a consumer court that PIO had provided information that is not in confirmatory with prevailing rules i.e. one on the deficiency mentioned in 2 i (g). I had given the forum what the information should be as per prevailing rules that were also agreed by State information commission.
In my prayer I had asked the forum to give direction to PIO to advice the people under whom he works to act as per rules given by me.
But the Forum refused. I am making an appeal to State Information commission.
