Online filing of RTI applications taking a real shape
21 Aug, 2013As per Office Memorandum (OM) No.1/1/2013-/R issued by the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), the facility of RTI online web portal has been extended to all the Ministries/ Departments of Government of India with effect from August 21, 2013. The Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions V Narayanasamy shall formally extend reach of the portal www.rtionline.gov.in in a function in the capital today.
This facility is, however, not proposed to be extended for field offices/ attached/ subordinate offices. The DoPT has asked all the departments / ministries to ensure training to all the CPIOs and First Appellate Authorities (FAAs) through the officials trained by DoPT/ NIC. For the effective implementation of the portal, it is imperative that the user name/ password should be provided to all the CPIOs and FAAs by RTI Nodal Officers of the concerned Ministry/ Department. Further, the RTI Nodal Officers are required to update the details of CPIOs/FAAs in the system and issue user name and password to them at the earliest. By making a payment of Rs. 10/-, an application of upto 500 words can be filed.
