Now even a MP wants to use RTI Act for obtaining information
Recently, news channels had shown in the context of coalgate scam that during the Chief ministership of Babulal Marandi, coal blocks were allotted to two firms in Jharkhand.
In this wake, Lok Sabha member from Jamshedpur, Ajay Kumar, has announced that he will file an RTI application with the Parliament seeking to make public all recommendation letters for coal block allotment in favour of private parties sent to the coal ministry by the chief ministers, MPs and MLAs since 1996. Ajay Kumar and Babulal Marandi both belong to the Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (JVM).
He has also threatened to go on an indefinite fast near Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's residence if justice is not done to the party.
