No RTI application till the completion of the civil service examination says UPSC
15 Oct, 2014While declaring the results of the civil services (preliminary) examination, the Union Public Service Commission has advised the candidates not to file RTI applications to know about the details of their marks. The UPSC advisory says that the marks would be provided to the candidates after the completion of the entire selection process for the civil services. The UPSC communiqué says "Candidates are also informed that marks, cut off marks and answer keys of civil services (preliminary) examination 2014 will be provided only after the entire process of the civil services examination, 2014, is over i.e. after the declaration of final result ………. Therefore, no application under RTI Act, 2005 or otherwise will be entertained in this regard."
Over 4.5 lakh had appeared in the civil service preliminary examination conducted by the UPSC on August 24.The Civil Services Main (CSM) examination is scheduled to be held with effect from December 14, 2014 for which the candidates have been asked to apply. The statement says that the "The candidates who have been declared successful have to first get themselves registered on the relevant page of the website before filling up the online Detailed Application Form." The candidates are required to take out a print out of the DAF form and send the printed copy of the form, duly signed by the candidate, to the UPSC.
The disclosure of the marks obtained by the candidates has been a frequent querry at UPSC where the students have asked for the ‘raw marks’ and those which are finally awarded by the UPSC after gradation.
