Murder of RTI Activist Shehla Masood solved by CBI
With the arrest of architect Zahida Pervez, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has claimed to have solved the the murder of RTI activist Shehla Masood on Tuesday. An official statement on the CBI’s website read “In a major breakthrough, the CBI arrested a Bhopal-based Interior Designer in an on-going investigation in connection with killing of Ms. Shehla Masood...she is allegedly believed to be a conspirator in the killing. Another person, understood to have been hired by the accused lady, has also been arrested by the CBI,”
Ms. Zahida Pervez, is the owner of “Design Era”, a Bhopal-based architecture and design firm and she is believed to have hired a contract killer. The reason for the murder has been reported as business and personal rivalry. Earlier a reward of Rs. 5 lakh was announced for any credible information on the murder which was later hiked to Rs. 10 lakh.
