Meira Kumar has more visits abroad than to her Lok Sabha constituency
According to information provided by secretary of Lok Sabha in response to an application filed under the Right to Information (RTI) Act, the two-time MP from Sasaram, Meira Kumar, has spent a lot of time in foreign visits after becoming the Speaker of Lok Sabha in 2009. Analysis of the data has been updated till September 25, 2013 for her visits abroad and her constituency tour till February 4, 2014.

The data that revealed her foreign trips on the date of becoming Speaker till September 25, 2013, and the data about her constituency tour is till February 4, 2014. Meira Kumar as LS Speaker also visited many places in the country spending over 200 days.
The RTI application was filed by a teacher in Delhi University, Ratan Lal, to know about the travels of Meira Kumar after she became LS Speaker. Lal has raised the question of the duties and responsibilities as a Member of Parliament and that of the Speaker of the Lok Sabha.
