FACTS
Vide RTI dt 4.2.2013 appellant had sought information on list of top ten income tax payers for 2011-12 in Bangalore.
2 CPIO vide letter dt 13.2.2013 referred to CIC decision (file No. CIC/LS/A/2010/000102 dated 31.3.2010) in the case of Shri N. Lal vs IT Deptt., Bharatpur wherein information requested is exempt from disclosure u/s 8(1)(j) Notwithstanding anything contained in this Act, there shall be no obligation to give any citizen, information which relates to personal information the disclosure of which has no relationship to any public activity or interest, or which would cause unwarranted invasion of the privacy of the individual unless the Central Public Information Officer or the State Public Information Officer or the appellate authority, as the case may be, is satisfied that the larger public interest justifies the disclosure of such information: Provided that the information which cannot be denied to the Parliament or a State Legislature shall not be denied to any person. of the RTI Act.
3. An appeal was filed on 25.2.2013
4. AA vide order dt 28.3.2013 upheld the decision of the CPIO.
5. Submissions made by the appellant and public authority were heard. The Commission is in receipt of a fax from the FAA dt 21.10.13 enclosing a copy of the response provided to the appellant listing out the names of 10 individuals.
DECISION
6. As the information sought has since been provided, the appeal is disposed of.
