What are the duties of a MLA?
10 Jan, 2012
As per a reply received from the Maharashtra Legislature Secretariat under RTI, there are no duties specified for legistors. After being elected, the legislators take an oath, 'I will faithfully discharge the duty upon which I am about to enter'. An applicant sought to know what these duties were. He was informed that there were nothing specified. Neither the Indian
Constitution
nor
Maharashtra
Legislature
Rules stipulate any duty for a MLA or MLC.
