Is putting the web recording of office on web a sign of transparency?
Three months back, the Chief Minister of Kerala Shri Ooman Chandy created history by initiating 24-hour live webcast of his official chamber. This innovative idea has been widely accepted worldwide and the webcast has registered about 4 lac visitors. Impressed by this move of Shri Chandy, the Chief Minister of Karnataka Shri Sadananda Gowda has also planned a similar move in his Vidhana Soudha office and residence office. Two cameras have been proposed in Vidhana Soudha office and three in residence office from where the people can watch what the CM and his officers are doing.
Perhaps, readers may look forward to watching more CMs going for a similar move. The mute question is whether the “Big Boss” move will lead to transparency? Or, is it just a pushing the things to a level nearing absurdity?
