The appellant sought information regarding steps taken by ICMR to curb various diseases and other related information.
Relevant facts emerging during hearing:
Both parties are present and heard. The appellant filed an RTI application on 02.12.2013, seeking the above information. CPIO, M/o Health & Family Welfare, vide letter dated 20.01.2014 transferred point 5 of RTI application to ICMR. CPIO, ICMR vide reply dated 03.02.2014 informed the appellant that information sought on point no. 5 do not come under the definition of information under the RTI Act. Having not received any response from the FAA, appellant filed the present appeal before the Commission. The appellant stated that information sought on point no. 5 has not been provided to him till date and requested for directions to provide the same. He informed the Commission that in point no. 5 he had sought information w.r.t. action taken by the Ministry & ICMR for promotion of ideas given in the book written by him namely ‘Govardhan Manch”. The respondent stated that appellant has not sought any information but only requested for research w.r.t. his book ‘Govardhan Manch’.
Decision:
After hearing both the parties and on perusal of record, the Commission directs the respondent to send a revised reply w.r.t. point no. 5 of the RTI application to the appellant, within one week of receipt of this order, under intimation to the Commission. The appeal is disposed of accordingly.
