General VK Singh to file an application under the RTI Act

Amidst allegations of the former Army chief General VK Singh setting up Technical Support Division (TSD) and using it to topple the government of the Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, he is likely to use the Right to Information (RTI) Act today to obtain the Army report on Technical Support Division (TSD).
It has been reported in the media that the TSD was used to tap telephone conversations. Though the Ministry of Defence has admitted to receiving the Army report, but the contents of the report have not been confirmed as yet.
It is not clear as to whether the report would be provided to him regarding the unit which he once headed. VK Singh had denied the destabilisation allegations as "motivated and most absurd”. He claimed that if TSD was allowed to function properly, the cross border terrorism wouldn’t have existed. Singh had shared the dais with Narendara Modi a couple of days back and the BJP national spokesperson N Sitharaman has alleged that his targeting is due to the same reason
