Fake certificates used to secure admission in Kendriya Vidyalayas
26 Jul, 2013
An application was filed with the Kendriya Vidyalaya, Push Vihar (New Delhi) under the Right to Information (RTI) Act seeking to get information about the parents of the children along with copies of their service certificates.
The applicants had come to know about 13 parents getting their children admitted in the school on account of forged service certificates of central ministries and departments. After receiving the information from the school, the applicants filed separate inquiries under RTI Act with different ministries and departments in order to verify the service records of the parents.
The ministries and departments, except Western Naval Command Headquarters, confirmed in their replies that none of the parents in question were their employees. The Western Naval Command Headquarters refused to provide information saying it was third party information. When the school came to know about the forgery, it cancelled the admission of the children. However, no action like lodging FIRs against the parents for forgery has been taken.
