Disciplinary action taken against IAS officers pending – RTI reply
31 Dec, 2012The reply to an application filed under the Right to Information (RTI) Act has revealed that many states tend to delay the disciplinary actions against IAS officers.
The Department of Personnel and Training, in its reply to the application under RTI, has said that disciplinary actions, including dismissal from service and cut in pension, have been suggested against 45 IAS officers since 2007. Out of these, 24 cases are pending because the respective state governments have not responded properly in the prescribed format. Despite several reminders by the DoPT, some states have failed to respond and their responses are still awaited.
