Details of present monthly pensionary benefits drawn by Sri. A. H. K. Pillai, DE (Rtd) residing at B- 48, Sankari, Ashramam Road, Nettayam, Trivandrum-13.
Grounds for the Second Appeal: The PIO has refused the information under section 8(1)(j) Notwithstanding anything contained in this Act, there shall be no obligation to give any citizen, information which relates to personal information the disclosure of which has no relationship to any public activity or interest, or which would cause unwarranted invasion of the privacy of the individual unless the Central Public Information Officer or the State Public Information Officer or the appellate authority, as the case may be, is satisfied that the larger public interest justifies the disclosure of such information: Provided that the information which cannot be denied to the Parliament or a State Legislature shall not be denied to any person. of the RTI Act,2005.

Respondent: Mr. P Karmachandran CPIO through VC The appellant stated that he needs the information regarding the monthly pension drawn by Shri A.H.K. Pillai, DE (retired). The CPIO argued that no public interest has been demonstrated by the appellant for seeking the information and hence the same was not provided. The appellant contested stating that as per Section 4(1)(b)(x) of the RTI Act the respondent are mandated to disclose the monthly remuneration received by each of its employees and the monthly pension drawn by a retired employee is nothing but remuneration. The CPIO agreed to furnish the information.
The CPIO should furnish the information as above to the appellant within 7 days from the date of receipt of this order. The appeal is disposed of accordingly.
