CM office has no clue about the tour undertaken by the Chief Minister
12 Jan, 2014An application was filed with the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) of Uttar Pradesh under the Right to Information (RTI) Act seeking to get the details of the tour of Hyderabad undertaken by the chief minister. The application sought to know whether it was an official tour, how much money the government spent on the tour and the number of persons accompanying the CM on government expenses.
The reply to the application indicates that the CMO might not have the concrete information regarding the CM’s Hyderabad tour. The reply from the deputy secretary and public information officer, CMO says that no relevant information could be obtained from the archives available in the secretariat administration (budget cell). Another reply from the deputy secretary and public information officer, secretariat administration section-3 stated that the sought information pertained to the budget cell and that the office had sent requests to the budget cell to provide the necessary information to the applicant.
The applicant, disappointed by the replies, has said that he would directly request the Chief Minister to provide the information to him for maintaining the sanctity of the post. He said that he would go for the first appeal also.
