Citizens can register their tenants and domestic help online at Ahmedabad
25 Oct, 2012The Ahmedabad city police has launched a website (http://www.ahmedabadcitypolice.org/) which would make it easy for the people to get regular updates on traffic diversions, registration of foreigners, finding the police station, women police station, traffic branch and police officer of the locality. Further, information such as Citizens' Charter, filing of applications under Right to Information (RTI) and filing online complaint has been provided on the website.
The site carries two features in the ‘service’ section where the citizens can register their tenants and domestic help online. The Domestic help (Gharghati) and Tenant (Bhaduat) online registration can be filled on line which would be forwarded direclty to the respective police stations for necessary action. This would aid in police getting quick information while side stepping the taboo of public of not going to the police station. The Ahmedabad police has called for suggestions from the public to improve the website.
It is not known how many police authorities offer this facitlity to the citizens. It appears to besomething worth emulating in the major cities of the country.
