31 Jul, 2014The appellant is not present at the scheduled time of 2.30 pm and turned up at 3 pm, by which time the Public Authority has left after briefing the Commission. The Public Authority was represented by Mr. L.P.Sinha, Dy.Secretary and Mr. Ganga Prasad, APIO/Sr.PA, Commission for the Backward Classes, GNCTD, Delhi.
FACTS
2. At the request of the appellant/complainant, this complaint is converted as appeal and heard. The appellant submitted that through his RTI application/complaint dated 10-6-2010 he has sought to know why the caste “Bhat” was included in the OBCs, while the same caste spelt as ‘Bhatt’ was left out from the OBCs list as both the castes are Brahmins. PIO replied on 7-7-2010. The appellant filed first appeal before the FAA. FAA by his order dated 18-8-2012, upheld the information furnished by the PIO and disposed of the appeal. Being unsatisfied with the information supplied by the respondent authority, the appellant filed 2nd appeal before the Commission.
Decision:
3. Heard the submissions made by both the parties. The Dy. Secretary/PIO of the Public Authority submitted that they have furnished all the information to the appellant, but the appellant wanted the same in Hindi. Accordingly, the Commission directs the respondent authority to furnish the same explanation dt. 16-6-2014 which was presented to the Commission during hearing, to the appellant in Hindi also within one week from the date of receipt of this order.
4. The appeal is disposed of accordingly.
