Action taken against 32 persons for violating exam norms by Nagpur University
9 May, 2013An application was filed with the Nagpur University under the Right to Information (RTI) Act seeking to know about the agenda and outcomes of the meetings of the university’s special disciplinary committee meant to look into cases of violation of examination bye-laws. The application was prompted by the allegation that the special disciplinary committee had not met for over a year.
The reply provided by the university was accompanied by a list of 32 persons with the heading “list of teachers who have been given warning or have been debarred from the examination for their negligence/misconduct in the University examination by Board of Examination”.
However, the list also contains names of non-teaching staff of the university who have been found guilty of misconduct during the examination. The reply mentions that action has been taken against persons who have done their doctorate and even against a cycle stand contractor.
The reply stated that decision in all the 32 cases were finalized by the Board of examination meeting in February 2013.
